Creative Approach
The project involved creating two animated sequences for the film. Laura Otero wrote the scripts and directed the two sequences, and the both of us were responsible for the art direction, visual development and animation.

Styleframes
We developed two distinct illustration styles to reflect the tone of each sequence. For the scenes recalling the character’s childhood, we used a storybook-inspired style, drawing on the look and feel of children’s book illustrations. For the second sequence, depicting more adult situations, we adopted a more mature cartoon style.
Storyboard
Laura developed two fully detailed storyboards, one for each animated sequence. Below is the storyboard for the first sequence, featuring the character Kawasaki.
